Brian Scherschligt enters his fourth season as an assistant coach with the University of Sioux Falls Baseball program in 2026-27.
Assistant Coach Brian Scherschligt completed his third season with the Cougars in 2026, helping guide USF to a 26-26 overall record and a fifth-place finish in the NSIC. He played an important role in the development of both the offense and defense, contributing to a team that produced 358 runs on 501 hits while the pitching staff combined for 371 strikeouts over 406 innings.
Scherschligt helped mentor several of the program's top performers, including first baseman Mitch Iliff, who earned First-Team All-NSIC and Second-Team ABCA/Rawlings All-Region honors. He also helped guide Drew Miller to Second-Team All-NSIC recognition and Dominic Vogel to NSIC All-Defensive Team accolades.
Off the field, Scherschligt supported the program's continued commitment to academic excellence as Cougar Baseball produced nine NSIC Team of Excellence honorees, 10 NSIC All-Academic selections, and a CorTrust Scholar-Athlete designation for Tyler Maeyaert during the 2025-26 campaign.
Scherschligt brings a strong passion for player development and mentorship to the Cougar staff, assisting with daily operations, skill instruction, and helping student-athletes reach their full potential both on the field and in the classroom.
