Casey Peters

Casey Peters enters his second season as the running backs, and first season as tight ends coach at the University of Sioux Falls. Peters also serves as the assistant recruiting coordinator for the Cougars.

In 2012, the Cougar starting backfield averaged 4.2 yards per carry and tallied six rushing touchdowns. His group also demonstrated their receiving ability, as running backs accounted for 192 receiving yards. Under Peters’ direction, Jordan Taylor surpassed the 1500-yard career-rushing mark and Kristian Porter ended his career eighth (2,081 yards) on all-time rushing list.

Prior to joining the coaching staff, Peters enjoyed a luxurious four-year career with the Cougars. The four-year starter and two-time captain was a key offensive lineman from 2008-2011, when USF went 34-1, made three consecutive National Championship appearances and recorded the program’s first back-to-back undefeated championship seasons. Peters was a two-time GPAC all-conference selection and earned Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete honors as a junior.

Peters received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Sioux Falls in December of 2011.

The Little Rock, Iowa native prepped at George-Little Rock (Iowa), where he was named all-state and all-conference. He also helped lead the Lions to a 2A State Championship.
