Dan enters his first year with Sioux Falls.

Istvanovich joins USF Athletics after serving as an Athletic Operations Graduate Assistant at Northern State University, where he played a key role in game-day operations, event coordination, promotions, and managing student staff and interns. He also gained experience in athletic advancement through an internship with the Northern State Foundation, helping develop corporate partnerships, donor engagement initiatives, and fundraising events.  

A former Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference student-athlete, Istvanovich brings a unique perspective to the role, combining experience in operations, marketing, event management, and relationship building. He earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Northern State University in May 2025 and recently completed his master's degree in sports leadership in May 2026.

Prior to his time at Northern State, Istvanovich also completed an internship with USA Track & Field Dakotas, assisting with social media strategy, regional meet logistics, and event coordination. He has been actively involved in community service throughout his collegiate career, including volunteering with the South Dakota Special Olympics, youth track and field programs, and community outreach initiatives. 

In his role as Assistant Athletic Director for Operations, Istvanovich will oversee the planning and execution of home athletic events, coordinate game-day operations and staffing, and support the overall operational needs of the University's 19-sport athletic department.
