David Rodriguez enters his third season as a volunteer assistant coach with the University of Sioux Falls Baseball program in 2027.

Rodriguez works in several areas of the Cougar program, assisting with bullpens and overseeing technology during bullpen sessions and batting practice. On game days, he serves as USF's first base coach. His background with baseball technology and analytics allows him to assist the coaching staff in the development and evaluation of Cougar student-athletes.

Since joining USF ahead of the 2025 season, Rodriguez has contributed to the development of the Cougar baseball program both on and off the field. During his time at USF, the Cougars have earned multiple All-NSIC honors along with ABCA/Rawlings All-Region and NSIC All-Defensive Team recognition.

Prior to USF, Rodriguez spent one season as a volunteer assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State University. Before entering the collegiate coaching ranks, he spent two and a half years as a student manager with the University of Central Florida baseball program. At UCF, Rodriguez assisted with practice setup and operations while gaining extensive experience with baseball technology, including FlightScope, Yakkertech, Rapsodo and TrackMan. He also assisted in preparing scouting reports on opposing pitchers for hitter meetings.

A native of Tampa, Florida, Rodriguez earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport and athletic coaching.
