Macy Skiles is in her first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Sioux Falls in 2026-27. She works primarily with the Cougar men's wrestling and softball programs while providing comprehensive sports medicine care to USF student-athletes.
As an Assistant Athletic Trainer, Skiles is responsible for injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, emergency care, and return-to-play progression for her assigned teams. She works closely with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support the health, safety, and performance of Cougar student-athletes.
Prior to joining the University of Sioux Falls, Skiles completed her athletic training education at South Dakota State University, where she gained clinical experience with wrestling, soccer, Flandreau High School, and outpatient rehabilitation facilities. During graduate school, she spent the majority of her clinical rotations working with the Jackrabbit wrestling program, where she developed a passion for collegiate wrestling and sports medicine.
A Sioux Falls native, Skiles earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from South Dakota State University in 2024 before completing a Master of Athletic Training in 2026. During her time at SDSU, she served as president of the Jackrabbits Lifting Club, interned in the Exercise Science Stress Testing Laboratory, and earned certification as an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP).
Skiles became a Board of Certification Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in the spring of 2026 before joining the Cougar athletic training staff.
