Ryan Howe enters his first season with the University of Sioux Falls Football program in 2026 as the team's tight ends coach.
Howe arrives in Sioux Falls after spending the previous two seasons at Grand Valley State University as a special teams, personnel, and offensive assistant. During his time with the Lakers, Grand Valley State compiled an impressive 18-5 overall record while averaging 37.5 points and 405 yards of total offense per game. His diverse responsibilities included assisting with offensive game planning, personnel operations, and special teams coordination while contributing to one of Division II's premier programs.
Prior to Grand Valley State, Howe was a four-year member of the football program at Hope College, where he played safety and developed a strong understanding of all phases of the game. During his playing career, he gained valuable leadership experience and built the foundation for his transition into coaching.
A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Howe earned his bachelor's degree in secondary education with an integrated science emphasis from Hope College. He later received his Master of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University.
Howe's background as both a former defensive player and multi-faceted offensive assistant provides a unique perspective that will aid in the development of the Cougar tight ends and contribute to the continued growth of the USF offense.
