Weston Bridges joins USF for his first season as the runnings back coach.
Bridges brings a wealth of experience and insight to the USF backfield after a standout playing career that included time at both the NCAA Division I and Division II levels. He began his collegiate career at Michigan State University, where he appeared in multiple games and totaled 53 rushing yards on 16 carries during the 2018 season. He later transferred to Ashland University, competing with the program during the 2020 season that was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bridges continued his athletic journey at the University of Central Missouri, competing as a redshirt senior running back. During the 2023 season, he emerged as a key contributor in UCM’s backfield rotation, including a standout performance with 64 rushing yards on seven carries against Northeastern State
A native of Ohio, Bridges had a decorated prep career at Copley High School. He was a two-time Associated Press Division II All-Ohio First Team selection and earned national rankings among the top running backs in the country by Scout.com, Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN. Over his high school career, Bridges rushed for an impressive 3,583 yards and 60 touchdowns on 474 carries, finishing with 63 total touchdowns.
Recognized for his elite talent and leadership, Bridges was twice named the Suburban League American Division Player of the Year and was selected to multiple all-region and all-state teams throughout his career.
With firsthand experience across Division I and Division II landscapes, Bridges brings both high-level competition and versatility to his coaching. His proven performance, coupled with his dedication and football IQ, makes him an exceptional mentor for the Cougars’ running backs.
