Zach Lundberg

Zach Lundberg enters his fourth season with the University of Sioux Falls Track & Field and Cross Country programs in 2026 after competing for the Cougars from 2016-20 and returning to his alma mater as an assistant coach.

Lundberg completed his third season on the USF coaching staff in 2025, helping guide the Cougar cross country programs to another successful campaign. The men's team finished seventh and the women's team placed eighth at the NSIC Championships before both squads concluded the season at the NCAA Central Regional Championships. Under Lundberg's guidance, the programs continued to build both athletically and academically, producing two NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence selections and one NSIC All-Academic Team honoree.

During the 2024 season, Lundberg helped lead the men's team to a fifth-place finish and the women's team to a sixth-place finish at the NSIC Championships. Four Cougar student-athletes earned All-NSIC honors, while the teams continued to excel in the classroom with 11 NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence selections and 12 NSIC All-Academic Team honorees.

As a student-athlete at Sioux Falls, Lundberg established himself as one of the most accomplished distance runners in program history. He earned five NCAA All-America honors and five All-NSIC selections while competing in both cross country and track and field. His success on the national stage and firsthand experience competing in the NSIC provide valuable perspective and mentorship for the next generation of Cougar distance runners.

Lundberg graduated from the University of Sioux Falls with bachelor's degrees in business administration and criminal justice.
