Chuck Morrell returns for his 11th season of Cougar football in 2008. He has orchestrated one of the most dominating defensive units in the country for the last several years at both the GPAC and NAIA levels.

In 2007, the Cougar defense was solid again, allowing the fewest points in the GPAC (9.9), and only 202.4 yards per game. In 2006, his unit set a GPAC record for fewest points-per-game average (7.3), breaking the previous record, also held by USF (9.7). In 2005, USF was the No. 2 defense in the conference and No. 10 overall in the NAIA. The previous four seasons, the Cougars had been the best defense in the conference.

Morrell played for USF from 1995-97 and led the 1996 national championship team in tackles (82). During his senior year, Morrell was an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention player and received the Burger King Scholar-Athlete Award. He has coached 31 All-Conference players, 11 of which were also named All-Americans.

Chuck and his wife, Jen, have one daughter, Selene.
