Josh Breske, who is in his third season, has been promoted to the offensive line coach at the University of Sioux Falls .

Breske, who graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in 2005 and went on to be a standout offensive lineman at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D., was the tight ends coach in 2014 and 2015 for USF, which advanced to a pair of postseason berths. In 2015, the Cougars advanced to the NCAA DII playoffs for the first time. He coached Nicholas Stanke, who was named a second team all-league selection.

He takes over an offensive line group that ranked as one of the nation's best. The Cougars allowed just five sacks which led the NSIC and NCAA DII. The Cougars' offensive line was ranked #4 nationally by HERO Sports. Offensive lineman Antonio Green was named to his second straight first team all league and earned honorable mention All-American honors. In summer of 2016 Green was named to the Lindy Sports Magazine first team All-American team in DII.

Breske was part of a coaching staff that helped USF to 9-3 and third in the NSIC South in 2015. The Cougars, were ranked as high as #4 nationally and ranked 22 straight weeks in national polls. The Cougars took second in the league and advanced to the NCAA DII Playoffs for the first time. USF dropped a 23-16 road decision to Henderson State.

USF had 13 all-league  player, two Academic All-Americans, eight all-region honorees, 31 All-NSIC Academic honorees, and one player named to four All-American teams.

In 2015, Breske was part of the coaching staff that led USF to an 11-1 overall record, including 10-1 in the regular season. The Cougars made a postseason appearance for  in NCAA DII for the first time at the Mineral Water Bowl. USF defeated Central Oklahoma, 42-10 in the bowl game at Excelsior Springs, Mo.

At Black Hills State Breske was a four-year starter, playing in all 46 Yellow Jacket games from 2006 through the 2009 season. He earned NAIA All-America honors twice and was a three-time first-team All-Dakota Athletic Conference selection. Breske was also a two-year team captain that helped lead the Yellow Jackets to back-to-back DAC championships.

Following the end of his college career, Breske played one season with the Wyoming Cavalry in indoor football, then returned to BHSU for his final semester of classes and to help coach the Jackets. He then moved to Chicago after graduation to become a graduate assistant coach at Robert Morris University, where Breske was the offensive line coach and helped with strength and conditioning. In the spring of 2012 Breske’s former coach at BHSU, Jay Long, got the head job at Chadron State and asked Breske to come there to finish his graduate study and coach for him.

Breske spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach/offensive line assistant coach at Chadron State College. During the 2013 and 2013 campaigns, he assisted head coach Jay Long with the offensive linemen and also worked with inside receivers. Breske helped convert Chadron State offensive tackle Garret Gilkey into a seventh round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns.   
 
Breske also holds a master’s of business administration degree from Chadron State. He is married to Alana Breske (Dykhouse). Alana is an elementary school teacher and the couple will reside in Sioux Falls. Josh and Alana have a daughter, Lola.
