Fighting brazen, windy conditions, the University of Sioux Falls women's soccer team fell for the second straight contest, this time a 1-0 defeat against rival Dakota Wesleyan University Tuesday night in Sioux Falls, S.D.
With the defeat, the Cougars fall to 6-5 on the year; the Tigers improve to 8-0-3.
During the first half, neither team found any success offensively. Going into halftime, the match was tied at zero.
In a game where offensive chances proved difficult to come by, the Tiger women finally broke through in the 75th minute, as Ellie Peterson slipped it past Cougar goalie Kelsey Van Peursem (Sioux Falls, S.D.) with a hard shot.
Next up for the Cougar women is a home date with Doane College. Kickoff is slated for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 10.
