The University of Sioux Falls women's soccer team did not allow a single shot in their conference-opening 6-0 victory over Mount Marty (1-3) Wednesday afternoon at the USF Sanford Soccer Complex.
The Cougars were led by senior forward Ashley Dement's hat trick, three goals in one match. The Harrisburg native made good on her only three shots on goal. Sophomore forward Tasia Murray (Sioux Falls, S.D.) added to her team leading goal count, heading a Megan Aanenson (Jr.; Sioux Falls, S.D.) pass into the net. Also scoring was Micole Jones, her first of the season. Jones' goal was initially slowed by Mount Marty's goalkeeper, but still managed to find its way into the goal.
The defense was stellar on the night, allowing the Lancers few chances to set up deep in Cougar territory.
The Cougars will continue conference play on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan University (4-1-1, 0-0-1) in Lincoln on Saturday, September 19.
