The University of Sioux Falls women's soccer team was held scoreless by Minot State University Saturday night for a 4-0 loss. Tonight's game was their first of two home games in two days.
Led by Jamie Council, Minot jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first half, where Council notched two goals. Her goals came in the sixth and 38th minute.
In the second half, Minot continued pressuring USF's defense and would score two more goals. Council picked up her third goal on the night at the 69 minute mark, giving her a hat trick. Zoe Fischer recorded the Beavers fourth and final goal.
Minot outshot USF 20-8 tonight, placing 13 shots on target. USF finished with four shots on goal.
The Cougars return to the field tomorrow (Oct.16) at 2p.m. as they look to avenge an early season loss to St. Cloud State (9/21). Their match up will be the first of a USF double header. The men's game will follow at 7:30p.m.
