The University of Sioux Falls Women's Soccer team was held scoreless, giving up a season high seven goals in Mankato, Minn. Tuesday Night, falling to Minnesota State 7-0.

Minnesota State's early offense attack proved to be too much as the Mavericks outshot the Cougars 24-1 scoring five goals in the first half. Nicole Dooher accounted for three goals alone, scoring in the 13th minute, 22nd minute and 27th minute of the game.

The Cougars also saw the Mavericks kick 13 corner kicks in the first, leading to a fourth goal by Ashley Sykora at the 15 minute mark. Lauren Sommers scored the fifth and final goal of the first half.

The Mavericks continued to bring the pressure in the second half, scoring in the 54th and 81st minute marks.

Brooke Jurgens, Halle Maedows and Tasia Murray were responsible for all four of the Cougars' shots, three were on target.

Samantha Maybon got the start in goal for USF and recorded eight saves in 54 minutes of play. Kelsey VanPeursem relieved her in net, making three stops in the final 36 minutes.

USF will return home Saturday (Oct. 8) for a 1p.m. match up with St. Mary (Neb.) at the Sanford Sports Complex.
