The University of Sioux Falls women's basketball team looks to extend a three game win streak Saturday (Dec.3) when they travel to Valley City, N.D. to take on Valley City State University at 2 p.m.

Since 2003, USF holds a 5-3 advantage over VCSU and has won the last three contests, where they have outscored the Vikings 222-170. In 2010, the Cougars routed VCSU 66-39 (box score on page 2).
From Downtown
The Cougars got back to their sharp shooting ways over the weekend, as they scorched the Colorado School of Mines for 12 3-pointers. USF boasts 49 3-point field goals made, while limiting opponents to just 22.
Filling the Stat Sheet
Senior guard Vanessa Johnson had another big night Saturday at Regis University, as she finished 6-10 from the field, while knocking down three 3-pointer for a game high 19 points. Johnson also contributed five assists, two steals and two rebounds to record the game's highest player efficiency rating at 21. The efficiency rating is evaluated based on the following formula: ((Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks) - ((Field Goals Att. - Field Goals Made) + (Free Throws Att. - Free Throws Made) + Turnovers)).
Defense Wins Games
The Cougars enter this weekend's game with 44 steals on the season and have capitalized on opponents mistakes to tally an impressive 91 points off turnovers this season.
The Johnson Effect
In USF's most recent win over VCSU, Laura Johnson posted a double-double with her game high 17 points and 10 rebounds. She went 7-11 from the field and connected on three of six attempts from beyond the arc. Johnson also added two assists, two blocks and two steals.
Numbers Game
Both USF and VCSU have faced North Dakota State University this season. USF came up 10 points short of upsetting NDSU, as they fell in Fargo 78-68. NDSU routed VCSU 85-64.
