ATLANTA, Ga. – The USF Women's Basketball team has once again proven its commitment to excellence both on and off the court, earning a spot in the 2024-25 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. The Cougars ranked No. 22 nationally among NCAA Division II programs after posting an impressive 3.703 cumulative team GPA.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the honor roll Tuesday, highlighting the top academic women's basketball programs across all collegiate levels. USF was one of only three NSIC programs to make the Division II top 25, underscoring the Cougars' strong academic culture and commitment to success beyond the hardwood.
"I am very proud of our team for the amount of time they put into both basketball and their academics," said head coach Travis Traphagen. "We have a great group of kids who take their studies very seriously. They should be proud of this achievement because our staff is!"
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes the programs in NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, and two-year colleges that recorded the highest team GPAs for the entire season, inclusive of all student-athletes on the roster. This year marked the 30th anniversary of the WBCA's academic honor roll initiative.
St. Cloud State led all NCAA Division II programs with a 3.892 team GPA. Sioux Falls' 3.703 mark placed them firmly among the nation's best academically, building on the program's longstanding tradition of pairing competitive basketball with high-level academic achievement.
