KEARNEY, Neb. - After starting the season with a draw, University of Sioux Falls Soccer dropped its first games of the season, falling to Rockhurst (Mo.), 2-0, on Sunday afternoon. Sioux Falls closes their opening weekend with a 0-1-1 record.
 
The USF offense was stagnant in the second leg of their weekend trip and Rockhurst held a 17=shot advantage over the Cougars. Rockhurst struck first with a goal in the 11th minute and added their second tally shortly after halftime, scoring in the 47th minute.
 
Morgan Perkins faced 12 shots on goal and was able to turn away all but two to finish with 10 saves. Jackie Montes was named to the UNK Classic all-tournament team, voted on by the four coaches of the team's that played this weekend.
 
Sioux Falls returns home to host Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. in both teams' Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opener.
