USF Soccer falls at St. Cloud State, 1-0, on Saturday

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - University of Sioux Falls Soccer dropped their second straight one-goal game, falling 1-0 at St. Cloud State on Saturday morning. The Cougars fall to 4-7-2 on the season with a 3-4-2 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
 
USF was held to just three shots on the day and Claire Radatz had the Cougars' only effort put on frame, but the SCSU keeper stopped it to hand USF its second consecutive shutout. In goal for the Cougars, Morgan Perkins faced a total of 17 shots, nine on goal, from the Huskies and she came away with eight saves.
 
St. Cloud State controlled the game in the first half, out-shooting the Cougars 8-0, but Perkins was up to task on all shots on goal with three saves in the first half. Lauren LaFavre had the first shot in the second half for USF, putting her effort wide of the net in the 49th minute. Ten minutes later, St. Cloud State scored the game-winner after a flurry of shots and corner kicks finally paid off.
 
In the 72nd minute, Radatz put the first Cougar shot on goal and USF earned a pair of corner kicks, but couldn't convert. With less than 10 minutes remaining in the game, the Cougars appeared to have scored the tying goal, but the USF player was ruled offside, negating the goal.
 
Kassidy Graber recorded USF's final shot of the game, but her 84th-minute effort missed wide of the goal.
 
The Cougars close out their final weekend road trip of the season with a 1 p.m. road game at Minnesota Duluth on Sunday, Oct. 15.
