ABERDEEN, S.D. – Going toe-to-toe with their fifth top-25 ranked team in four weeks, University of Sioux Falls Volleyball dropped a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-21) decision at No. 13 Northern State on Friday night. The Cougars fall to 9-4 overall with a 4-4 record in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
The Cougars were limited to a .224 attack percentage while NSU finished the match swinging at a .252 clip. USF held four-point advantages in each of the sets, but couldn't close in any of the first three frames. Northern State connected on 11 total service aces to help them spark runs against the Cougars.
Makenna Rockeman paced the USF offense with 10 kills and
Megan Hamstad handed out 21 assists to lead USF.
Janelle Lam reached double digits in digs for the Cougars, picking up 10 on the night.
The Cougars look to bounce back at MSU Moorhead on Saturday, Oct. 7 with first serve scheduled for 5 p.m. in Moorhead, Minn.
