SIOUX FALLS – Due to weather, University of Sioux Falls Softball's doubleheaders with Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State have been moved to Sunday, April 22 and Monday, April 23, respectively, at Augustana University's Bowden Field (33rd St. & Lake Ave) and are set to begin at 3 p.m. both days.
As part of their final weekend home series, USF will honor seniors
Breanna Black,
Megan Peterson and
Jasmine Ragusi before Sunday's doubleheader against Minnesota Duluth, provided Augustana's doubleheader leaves enough time for both games to follow – Bowden Field does not have lights and AU will host Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston before USF's doubleheaders each day.
Sioux Falls brings in a 25-12 record to the weekend, including a 10-4 mark in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play, which has them fourth in the league standings. The Cougars are coming off a doubleheader split at Concordia-St. Paul on Tuesday, winning the first game, 5-3, then dropping game two, 8-1.
Since joining the NSIC in 2013, Sioux Falls is 3-7 against Minnesota Duluth and 8-4 against St. Cloud State. USF has dropped four straight against the UMD Bulldogs, including a pair of one-run games (2-1, 5-4) in St. Joseph, Minn. last season. Against the SCSU Huskies, USF has won six of their last seven matchups, splitting last season's doubleheader. The Cougars dropped a 3-2 decision in game one before rebounding to defeat the Huskies, 13-4, in game two.
The Cougars plan to host Augustana on Wednesday, April 25 at Sherman Park for their final home doubleheader of the regular season, which is set to begin at 3 p.m. Closing out the 2018 regular season, the Cougars will travel to Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State on April 28 and 29, respectively.
