SIOUX FALLS— Battling the No.20 team in the country, the University of Sioux Falls Soccer Team (0-1) suffered a 4-0 loss in nonconference action at Minnesota State Thursday afternoon in Mankato.
USF was held to two shots, one of which resulted in a shot on goal. Freshman
Aundria Vargas made her first career start and was responsible for one shot on goal.
Lauren Passini recorded the other shot during the match.
Junior goalie Braden Paul made her first career start and made seven saves on 11 shots on goal with a save percentage of .636.
Minnesota State (1-0-0) controlled the offense with four goals on 21 shots, amounting to a .190 shot percentage. They also held USF at bay on defense.
The Cougars will host Black Hills State at 2 Pm on Monday, September 3, at the USF Sports Complex.
