Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. — Standing tough against the seventh-ranked team in the country, the University of Sioux Falls Soccer Team (3-6-0, 2-4-0 NSIC) fell to Bemidji State (9-0-0, 6-0-0 NSIC), 1-0 in a defensive battle on Friday.
In a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference road game, USF's defense held strong throughout the first half of Friday's match, allowing eight total shots with only three being on goal. The Cougars made a few offensive pushes in the first half resulting in three shots, with one being on goal.
The Cougar defense was pressed in the second half with the BSU attack pressuring the majority of the half. USF held strong until the 84
th minute when BSU forward Rachael Norton, who had eight total shots on the contest, pushed a shot passed USF goalie
Brayden Paul for the lone goal of the afternoon.
Paul accumulated a season and career high nine saves on the 10 BSU scoring opportunities. The Beavers tallied 29 total shots throughout the contest.
