WARRENSBURG, MO. – Led by Lexi Hanson, who is tied for second after a round of 71, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team sits in seventh place (310) in the team standings after one round of the Midwest Golf Classic at the Mules National Golf Club. USF will tee off tomorrow with pairings beginning at at 8:48 a.m. with Sydney Hubbard. Maggie Veenendall will be next at 8:56 followed by Lexi Jonas at 9:04 am; Alex Nutter at 9:12 am and Hanson at 9:20 am. USF fans can follow the Cougars, by clicking here.

The Cougars had a score of 310 across 18 holes in round one of competition which included 20 teams and 111 golfers. USF  is the highest placing NSIC team to this point at seventh place. Augustana is 11^th at 317 while Concordia St. Paul and Upper Iowa are tied for 12^th at 318. 

Hanson, who earned her fourth NSIC Women's Golfer of the Week honor on Sept. 27, had her second best round of the season by carding a 71 today. She had four birdies (holes one, two, five and nine) and finished with 11 pars as she finished with a one-over par total of 71. Hanson is tied with Allycia Gann of Missouri Western State and Kaylee Peterson of Northeastern State. Nina Lee of Northeastern State had a one-under par round of 69 and leads the individual competition.

Aside from Hanson, the Cougars had a solid effort across the board. Junior Alex Nutter is tied for 32^nd after carding a 78. Nutter had birdies on holes two, six and 14 and added nine pars.

Junior Lexi Jonas, who is the reigning NSIC Women's Golfer of the Week, opened the invite with a round of 80 and is tied for 48^th. She had 10 pars in her round today. Also for USF, freshman Maggie Veenendall, who had birdies on holes six and eight and totaled three pars, is tied for 57^th with an 81 while junior Sydney Hubbard is tied for 68^th with her opening round of 82, which included seven pars.
