SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Four members of the University of Sioux Falls women's golf team have been named 2025-26 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, recognizing their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom and on the course.
Juniors Bryn Huber, Tanna Phares and Abbie Ritzer, along with freshman Gwen Latunski, earned the prestigious distinction after meeting one of the most demanding academic standards in collegiate athletics.
The WGCA announced this year's All-American Scholar Team on Monday, recognizing 1,551 women's collegiate golfers from across the country. To earn the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, remain on their team's roster through the conclusion of the season, compete in at least 50 percent of the team's regularly scheduled rounds through the conference championship, and maintain amateur status.
Commitment to Excellence
The recognition highlights the continued commitment of the Cougar women's golf program to excellence both in competition and in the classroom. Each of the four honorees balanced the demands of collegiate golf while maintaining exceptional academic performance throughout the 2025-26 academic year.
"We stress the importance of excellence in the classroom and these four young ladies exemplify that commitment," said head coach Wade Merry. "I am extremely proud of them."

The WGCA All-American Scholar Award is among the most prestigious academic honors in collegiate golf. The selection criteria are considered some of the most rigorous in college athletics, recognizing student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional dedication to both their academic pursuits and athletic commitments.
The four Cougar honorees join more than 1,500 women's collegiate golfers nationwide recognized for their outstanding achievement during the 2025-26 academic year.
