WINONA, MINN. -- The University of Sioux Falls Tennis Team (2-3, 2-3 NSIC), which won a pair of singles matches, dropped a hard-fought decision to Winona State (5-1, 5-0 NSIC) in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Friday night.

Chloe Jefferies at No. 1 singles and sophomore
Joelle Thorfinnson at No. 5 singles. Jefferies moved to 2-2 on the season and registered her 16
th singles win in 21 career matches by rallying to a 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 decision against WSU's Beth Murman. Thorfinnson, who improved to 3-1 on the season, won at No. 5 singles with a dominating 6-2, 6-4 win over Faith Young of the Warriors. USF also had a win at No. 3 doubles as

Kelsie Sanders took a 6-1 decision over Mya Lubben and Caitlin Anderson. It was the first time that Ambrosio-Cueto and Sanders have teamed up in doubles.

"I felt we battled tonight and played an outstanding team tough," said USF Head Coach
Kevin Grebin, who team will face Upper Iowa at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday in Winona, Minn. "Everyone out here played hard and showed some outstanding play. We are continuing to improve and that is good to see," he said.
