USF Director of Men's and Women's Golf
Sam Vosler was pleased with the performance of the USF squad, which finished the season with their sixth placement of fourth or better at a tournament in 2018-19.
"I'm proud of the team and the way they fought out there," said Vosler. "We put ourselves in great position after 36 holes. It just wasn't our day. Unfortunately, we didn't put together the round we wanted. We got off to a tough start and then the wind really picked up. From that point in, it was a battle all day," he said.
"There was a lot of positives to take away from this weekend," added Vosler, whose team was picked to finish third in the preseason poll after a program-best third place finish at the 2017-18 NSIC Championship. "We know we have to be better in some areas if we want to be up with the top teams. The whole team is coming back which is very exciting. Along with our incoming freshman, we should be right there again next year," he said.
