Box Score MINOT, N.D. -- The No. 24 University of Sioux Falls Volleyball Team (9-0, 1-0 NSIC) opened the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with a 3-0 decision (25-19, 25-20, 25-9) road decision over Minot State on Friday night.
The Cougars, which earned the program's first-ever AVCA national ranking earlier in the week at No. 24, has now won eight of nine matches with sweep of opponents. USF has won 27-of-31 sets played in the 2019 season. Dating to a year ago, the Cougars have won 29 of the last 39 matches played.
In the first set, USF took a 25-19 decision with a number of runs. The Cougars had 16 kills and three errors in 36 attack attempts. Â
In the second set, USF again took crucial points in the set which included four lead changes and eight ties. Â
In the final set, USF had a 13-6 edge in kills and rolled to a 25-9 win and earned the match win. Junior
Krista Goerger had 35 assists and two blocks. Â
