ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Sioux Falls Tennis Team (8-4) bounced back after two losses by recording a 7-0 victory over Marywood University (2-2) on Tuesday afternoon (March 10).
The Cougars, which has won four of their last six matches overall, dominated the singles play with straight set wins at all six spots. USF also won all three doubles matches to pick up the doubles point.
"I was really pleased to see our energy and effort all through this match," said USF Head Coach
Kevin Grebin, whose team closes play on Wednesday (March 11) against Merrimack College in Orlando. "It was a nice bounce-back after playing two really talented teams," he said.
With her win at No. 1 singles,
Megan Quandt improved to 7-4 on the season and 6-2 at No. 1.
Lexi Miller won in straight sets and is now 7-4.
Victoria Ambrosio-Cueto moved to 3-6 on the season. With her straight set win at No. 4,
Rachel Klatt moved to 5-3. Also for USF,
Emily Applegate is 5-2 with her win by
Peyton Forney earned her second singles win in five matches.
In doubles Quandt and
Joelle Thorfinnson improved to 3-0 at No 1 singles. Miller and Klatt also picked up a win at No. 2 and
Brianna Whisler and
Allison Eichacker won at No. 3 as both those doubles teams stand 2-0 this season.
