Kaitlyn Van Der Zwaag of the University of Sioux Falls Softball Team, who threw a shutout and hit .588 in six games this weekend, has been named to the Washburn Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Van Der Zwaag, who leads the NSIC in on-base percentage at .667 and is fifth in slugging at .857, helped USF go 3-3 at the Washburn Invitational as she collected 10 hits in 17 at-bats for a .588 average. At the tourney, she had five runs scored, seven RBI, 15 total bases, HR and three extra base hits. She registered an .882 slugging mark with a .682 OBP.
Also at the tourney, she threw a two-hit shutout against Washburn, which was the first of her career. She made four pitching appearances and had 14 strikeouts in 17.2 innings (4.58 era). In the final of the tourney, she had three hits for the second time in her career in a 6-5 setback to Central Missouri
A sophomore infielder and pitcher from Hull, Iowa, Van Der Zwaag has a nine-game hitting streak and is leading USF in hitting at .536, which ranks second in the NSIC. Van Der Zwaag is tied with
Cassie Van Beek for the team lead in RBIs with nine and leads USF with 24 total bases.
