Sioux Falls, SD – The USF Swimming team will host Augustana and St. Cloud State in a double dual this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 15
th and 16
th). The event will take place at the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls, SD with Friday's events beginning at 5pm and Saturday's at 10am.
The Cougars were picked third in the NSIC Preseason Poll late last month after finishing third at the NSIC Championships during each of the last four years. Several veterans return for head coach
Chris Hamstra this year including All-American
Elizabeth Spaans and 2021 NSIC Freshman of the Year
Paulina Ruelas.
Spaans was named CoSIDA Academic All-District this summer and is USF's Athlete to Watch. A seven-time NSIC title holder (team/individual), Spaans earned All-American honors in 2020 and has made two trips to the NCAA DII national meet.
USF which had seven individuals or relays crowned champions at the 2021 NSIC Championships, had 10 provisional marks and 36 All-NSIC performers during the 2021 season.
The 2022 NSIC Championships will be hosted by USF at the Midco Aquatic Center from February 9
th through 12
th.
