USF Soccer wraps up the 2021 Season tomorrow at home vs. Southwest Minnesota State

SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls soccer team will be hosting Southwest Minnesota State University on Friday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. at the USF Soccer Field for their final game of the season.

Southwest Minnesota State (4-11-1, 3-10-1)
The Mustangs, under the direction of 7th year head coach Erin Kasmarik-Mallett, the Mustangs are currently sitting in 13th place in the conference. SMSU is lead by Alex Lott, Abbey Hoisington, and Kirsten Wetterstrom who combine for 26 of the teams 37 points on the season. On the defensive side of the ball, goalkeepers Meghan Harkin and Julianne Arballo have 69 saves and faced 201 shots with a save percentage of .747.
 
Cougars Corner:
The Cougars are 3-11-3, 3-8-3 on the season under the direction of seventh-year coach Brittany Domino. Despite some close contests not going the Cougars way, they have battled injuries and played some competitive matches late into games. The Cougars had a split weekend of a home/road match starting with a 2-1 overtime loss to Mankato and a 3-0 loss up in St. Paul, Minnesota when facing Concordia St. Paul. They have played deep into matches playing aggressive defense and continuing to find their offensive identity throughout the year. Grace Held leads the team in shots (20), followed by Aundria Vargas (19), and Kassidy Graber (10). On the defensive end, the goalkeepers have 179 saves from Alexis Wemhoff (100), Holli Knudsen (40), and Caroline Titze (39).
 
The Cougars are home for their final match of the season tomorrow when they face off against SMSU at 5 p.m. at the USF Soccer Field. Come support the Cougars as they wrap up the 2021 season!
