Megan Fannin of the University of Sioux Falls Women's Basketball Team, who averaged 21.4 points per game and 4.5 rebounds in two weekend victories at home, has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women's Basketball South Division Player of the Week in an announcement by the league office today.

In the past two games, Fannin, who earned her first NSIC Player of the Week honor, hit 15-of-32 field goals for 46.9 percent, including 10-of-20 from three-point range for 50 percent. She now has scored 20 points or more (20, 20, 22) in three straight games and helped the Cougars to five wins in a row. As a result, USF is tied for second in the NSIC South at 4-1 and 7-3 overall.
In a 73-50 win over Upper Iowa, she had 20 points and six rebounds, hitting 4-of-10 from three-point range in 29 minutes. In 29:34 against Winona State, Fannin led the Cougars to a 74-54 win by scoring 22 points with three rebounds, assist and a steal. Fannin, who is fourth in the NSIC in scoring at 17.9 points per game, was 8-of-15 from the field and had a career-best six three-pointers in 10 attempts.
Fannin, a business administration major from Watertown, S.D., leads the NSIC in three-point percentage at 43.1 percent with 28-of-65 conversions. Her 2.8 threes per game and 91.7 percent at the foul line (33-of-36) both rank second in the NSIC. She has 10 career double-digit scoring games with nine straight (26, 15,18, 22, 13, 16, 20, 20, 22) this year.
In 2021-22, Fannin has five games of 20 points or more (six in her career) and 179 points (206 in her career). She has hit on 33-of-80 three-point shots for 41.3 percent in her career. In addition, she has made a three-point field goal in all 10 games this season with five games of three or more. In the past three games, she has had at least four or more triples in a game.
Fannin and her USF teammates will host Waldorf University at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 14 before hitting the road at Minnesota State on Dec. 17 and Concordia St. Paul on Dec. 18.
