BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Junior guard
Anna Brecht of the University of Sioux Falls Women's Basketball Team has been named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team, according to an announcement today (Wednesday, Feb. 24) by the league office.
In her first season with USF, Brecht has been a difference maker. She has helped lead the Cougars to an 8-5 record and into the NSIC Sanford-Health Postseason Tournament, which opens on Thursday at 10 am against Minnesota Duluth. Brecht becomes the 14
th USF player named All-NSIC since USF joined the league in 2012-13. In eight of those nine years, USF has had a first-year All-NSIC honoree.

Travis Traphagen. "She is a joy to coach. Active in the FCA, she works hard and leads by example. Anna always has a lending hand when needed. She is the epitome of a student-athlete - faith, service and work in the classroom and on the floor," he said.
Brecht, who transferred from DI Wisconsin-Green Bay, is averaging 18.0 points per game for third in the NSIC and ranks fourth in the league with 234 points scored. A media studies major, she has a league-high seven 20-point games. In addition, Brecht has a double-double and has scored in double-digits in all 12-of-13 games. In eight games, she has at 19 points. She is third in the NSIC in free throw percentage at 90 percent (63-of-70) and has a streak of 29 straight made foul shots.
In the announcement by the league, Erin Norling, a senior from Wayne State, was the NSIC South Division Player of the Year while Brooke Olson of Minnesota Duluth was the NSIC North Division Player of the Year. Dave Krauth of Augustana was named the NSIC South Division Coach of the Year and Chelsey Deville was the NSIC North Division Coach of the Year.
