SPRINGFIELD, MO. – Led by the top-15 performance of senior
Lexi Hanson, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team is sixth in the team standings after day one of the Central Region Preview, which opened on Monday (April 12) at the Twin Oaks Country Club. The tournament will conclude with an 18-hole final round on Tuesday (April 13).
On the par 72, 6,009 Twin Oaks Country Club course, USF, which was recently ranked 11
th for the second straight week in the NCAA DII Central Region rankings, shot a team total of 26-over par 314 and are just two shots out of fourth place and five from second on the team leaderboard. The team leader is Arkansas Tech at 13-over par, 301 as they were led by the individual leader Jacqueline Klemm at -5 under 67. Central Oklahoma is second at 19-over par 307 and followed by Southwest Oklahoma State at 21-over par, 309; Northeastern State, 24-over par 312; Henderson State, 25-over par 313 and Sioux Falls.
Hanson is tied for 15
th after carding an opening round of five-over par 77 (39-38). She had a birdie on the 370-yard hole 17 plus 11 pars in her opening round.
Senior
Sydney Hubbard is tied for 21
st as she carded a six-over par 78 (42-36). Hubbard, who had a one-over par 36 on her back nine, had a birdie on hole one, a 338-yard par four and added 11 pars to her round.
Sophomore
Maggie Veenendall finished tied for 28
th as she finished at seven-over par 79 (41-38). Veenendall had birdies on the 365-yard par four ninth hole and the 370-yard par four 17
th hole. In addition, she had eight pars in her 18-hole round.
Senior
Kyleigh Moran had a solid day with an eight-over par 80 (41-39). She had a birdie on the 367-yard par four 12
th hole and totaled 10 pars on the day. Also for USF, senior
Lexi Jonas was tied for 64
th with a 14-over par total of 86 (43-43). She had six pars during her round.
