BURNSVILLE, MINN. -- For the first time in her career, sophomore
Maggie Veenendall of the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf Team has been selected the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golfer of the Week, according to an announcement today (April 14) by the league office.

USF Women's Golf now has had 13 student-athletes earn NSIC Golfer of the Week honors, including four times in 2021.
Kami Love, was honored on March 21, 2017 and
Lexi Hanson earned the first of eight honors on March 14, 2017 as well on Sept. 6, 2018, Sept. 27, 2019, March 14, 2019; March 12, 2020 and March 10, 2021, March 17, 2021 and March 31, 2021 while
Lexi Jonas was honored Oct. 2, 2019,
Alex Nutter was honored April 10, 2019, and Veenendall on April 14, 2021. They join current Head Coach
Tavia Rutherford, who was selected on Sept. 17, 2014 while a member of the USF Women's Team.
In her second-best career performance, Veenendall finished nine-over par 153 (79-74) and tied for seventh with her third career top-10 performance in leading USF to a seventh place team finish at the Central Region Preview in Springfield, Mo (Twin Oaks CC). In September, 2019, she carded a two-round total of seven-over par 151 (75-76).
With a two-over par final round of 74, Veenendall recorded her best round of her career (3 over par, 75, Central Region Fall Preview, 9-4-2019, 1st round). In the final round of the Central Region Preview, she had birdies on the 532-yard par five 14th hole and the 439-yard par five 16th hole along with 12 pars. As a result, Veenendall, who moved up 21 spots from day one, finished with 20 pars and four birdies during the two rounds.
Veenendall had the top score of NSIC players in the tourney and is a member of the 11th ranked team in the region. Veenendall is ranked fourth overall in scoring average in the league.
Along with her USF teammates, Veenendall will compete at the Augustana Spring Invitational on April 17-18 before the NSIC Championships on April 23-25 in Morton, Minn.
