Maplewood, MN – After one round of play at the Golden Bear Classic, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf team sits in seventh place with a 52-over score of 340. The Cougars are led by Paige Hillman and Ashley Tackett, a pair of freshmen who finished in the top-25 of the tournament's individual leader board.
 
Leading the tournament is Rogers State University with a 13-over par 301 followed by Nebraska – Kearney (+20, 308) and Concordia St. Paul (+31, 319). Isabella Dory out of Concordia St. Paul leads all golfers with her even score of 72 which sits 2 strokes above the four-way tie for second place. Despite being shorthanded (four golfers), the Cougars sit two strokes ahead of Southwest Minnesota State and only six strokes behind Winona State.
 
USF scores after round one:
 
Hillman continued her hot start to her career by posting an eight-over par 80 in the first round to tie her for 12^th place. Her birdie on the 288-yard hole one, along with nine pars, helped her post 40 on each leg of the course.
 
Tackett has stepped up at this tournament as she is tied for 24^th after the first round. Her 10 par makes helped her to an 11-over 83 (39-44) on the day.
 
Maddi Hanson landed tied for 40^th with six pars and a 16-over score of 88 (45-43).
 
Savannah Vincent shot 17-over for a score of 89 (41-48) that included six par makes.
