Cougars Corner:
The Cougars are 1-4 on the season under the direction of seventh-year coach Brittany Domino. Despite the first three contests not going the Cougars way, they have battled injuries and played some competitive matches late into games as they notched their first victory against NSIC opponent Winona State with a 2-0 victory. The Cougars began their season facing off against three MIAA conference opponents in Northwest Missouri State, Fort Hays State, and most recently against Rogers State (Okla.) in a match played in Omaha, Nebraska. Aundria Vargas leads the teams with five shots on the season and defensively the goalkeepers have 50 saves from Alexis Wemhoff (31), Caroline Titze (12) and Holli Knudsen (7).

Alexis Wemhoff had a standout weekend as the USF Soccer Team finished 1-1. In 180 minutes, Wemhoff recorded 20 saves and allowed just one goal while facing 36 shots by opponents. She recorded her second career shutout in USF's 2-0 road win at Winona State. She has a 1.69 goal allowed average with 31 saves while facing 64 shots. She has .861% save mark over four games in goal.

"We have a pretty young group and I have confidence we will bounce back this week and learn from the mistakes we made in last Sunday's loss," Head Coach Brittany Domino said. The Cougars host the Univ. of Mary tomorrow at 2 p.m. and wrap up the weekend of NSIC action hosting Minot State on Sunday at 12 p.m.
