LAKE CITY, MN - After day one of the Watkins Invitational the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf team places 5th. The Cougars shot 54-over for a score of 342 in the first round and are just one stroke out of 4th.
Winona State leads their own tournament with a 22-over 310 while Upper Iowa sits in second at a 30-over 318. Winona State's Carly Moon leads all players as the only golfer under par, she shot a two-under 70 in round one.
USF round one scores:

Maggie Veenendall: 9th, nine-over 81 (42-39). She birdied on the 434-yard hole 18.

Paige Hillman: T13th, 12-over 84 (43-41). She also birdied on hole 18.

Annie Balduzzi: 20th, 15-over 87 (44-43).

Savannah Vincent: T24th, 18-over 90(45-45).

Maddi Hanson: 28th, 19-over 91(46-45).

Ashley Tackett: 29th, 24-over 96 (50-46) (individual entry).
The Watkins Invitational will continue tomorrow, September 28th with the final 18-holes followed by awards for team and individual winners.
