SIOUX FALLS, SD - The USF Women's Golf team will attend the Augustana Fall Invitational this Saturday and Sunday (Oct 2-3). The Cougars final meet will take place at the par 72, 6158-yard Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
USF shined in it's last tournament, taking 3rd place at the Watkins Invitational with
Maggie Veenendall taking home 2nd place and breaking or tieing her career records.
Prior to the Watkins Invitational, Veenendall had competed in two tournaments this year. She placed 10th and 11th averaging a score of 76.20 before carding 81 and 70 in her 2nd place finish. The senior has led USF in each meet she has competed in this year.
Paige Hillman has put together an impressive freshman campaign with her most recent performance in Lake City, MN netting her a 12th place finish by way of a 22-over 166 score. She averaged 81.86 strokes through the first three meets and placed 12th in another tournament this year as well.
Savannah Vincent also competed in two tournaments earlier this year. The freshman averaged 85.20 and placed as high as 29th before taking 28th with a 38-over 182 (90-92) at the Watkins Invitational.
Maddi Hanson has competed in all events this year, she averaged 87.00 strokes a round and finished as high as 46th. At the Watkins Invitational she placed 34th with a 34-over par 178 (91-87).
Ashley Tackett finished 29th at the Watkins Invitational with a 41-over 185 (96-89). Prior to that she averaged 87.50 strokes through two tournaments in her freshman campaign this year.
Annie Balduzzi competed in her first match of the season at the Watkins Invitational. She tied her career best round with a nine-over 81 that contributed to her 16th place 24-over 168 (87-81).
The Augustana Fall Invitational will close out the season for USF's Women's Golf team. The Cougars will resume play in the spring, stay tuned to USFCougars.com for the spring schedule release and results from the final match!
