Box Score SIOUX FALLS – In the second match of the season, the Sioux Falls Soccer Team dropped a 2-0 decision to Fort Hays State University in the first road game of the season.
The Tigers struck first at the 36' mark when Jordan Thompson scored to take a 1-0 advantage. They added a second goal by Amanda Rapaduski in the opening frame at the 44' mark making it a 2-0 score going into halftime. FHSU outshot the Cougars, 15-to-0 in the first half.
In the second half, the defenses controlled play as neither team scored. The Tigers finished the game with 25 shots (13 SOG) with USF goalies recording 11 saves as
Alexis Wemhoff saved seven shots while
Holli Knudsen had three saves and
Caroline Titze, 1. USF finished with two shots for the game on the feet of
Grace Held and
Catie Caruso.
The Cougars will be back in action next Sunday when they visit Rogers State (Oklahoma) in Omaha, NE with a starting time of 2 p.m.
