SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- After opening the season with two tough, hard-fought nonconference losses, the University of Sioux Falls Soccer Team (0-2) is back on the road and heading to face off against the Rogers State Hillcats (2-0). The match is set to be played on Sunday, September 12 at 2 pm at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Cougars dropped a 2-0 decision to Northwest Missouri State in the home opener and then took a 2-0 loss to Fort Hays State on the road. Both games were hard fought defensive battles, with all teams getting back in the groove of competing again after a canceled season due to COVID-19.

History
This match will be the very first time the Cougars and the Hillcats will face off in program history. Rogers State is led by leading scorer Vanessa Gonzalez who has three of the Hillcats four goals. Rogers State opened their season with a 2-1 victory over East Central and then defeated Willaim Jewel 2-0, with Gonzalez scoring in both games. Brooke Amos has the other goal on the year. The Cougars have three players with shots on goal, including

Abby Whittington and are lead in goals saved by senior goalkeeper
Alexis Wemhoff (11 saves).
Looking Ahead
After this match, the Cougar still face a long road stretch ahead of them, and will head to Winona, Minn. to take on the Winona State Warriors Friday, September 17 at 5 pm. After that USF heads to Upper Iowa on Sunday, September 19 before returning home to host the University of Mary Marauders on Friday, Sept. 24 at the USF Sports Complex.
