BURNSVILLE, MINN. --
Ilinde du Plessis, who had two individual wins and contributed to a pair of relay victories in a dual win over No. 24 Augustana, has earned the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Swimmer of the Week honors as announced today (Jan. 17) by the NSIC Office.

A native of Vereeniging, Gauteng, South Africa, du Plessis earned her first NSIC Swimmer of the Week honors and is the second student-athlete (
Inte Pas, Oct. 26, Nov. 9) to receive USF's third NSIC weekly honor this season. She is a pre-occupational therapy major at USF.
In the victory over city rival Augustana, du Plessis helped (RV) USF to a 137-125 victory on January 15 in a dual competition at the Midco Aquatic Center.
At the meet, she claimed the 200 back title in 2:06.60 which is the ninth fastest in the NSIC although she has a better time (2:04.18, 43rd in DII) this season. du Plessis also clocked 1:56.35 in the 200 free. In addition, du Plessis was a member of the winning 200 medley relay (du Plessis,
Inte Pas,
Valerie Childs,
Ursula Demarquet) in 1:49.73 and the victorious 200 free relay (du Plessis, Demarquet,
Domenica Solano, and Childs) in 1:38.19. Both teams are ranked sixth in the league although not USF's top time this year. In total USF had 10 titles in 16 events in the dual meet.
