November 10, 2022

SIOUX FALLS – The University of Sioux Falls women's basketball team will open their season at home this weekend against Missouri Western State and #3 Fort Hays State.

The Cougars are coming off a 16-12 season and have brought back 16 returners to this year's squad. Last season USF outscored their opponents 1,915 to 1,778 while averaging 68.4 points a game led by now sophomore, Megan Fannin.

USF will open the weekend against the Griffons of Missouri Western tomorrow, Friday, November 11th at 7:30 p.m. in the Stewart Center. The two teams faced off for the first time last season when the Griffons came away with a 76-68 victory. The Cougars shot 50% from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arch against Missouri Western, but with a substantial amount of returners along with experienced players, USF will look to come out on top.

Sioux Falls will also host #3 Fort Hays State on Saturday, November 12th at 3:30 p.m. for their second match-up against the Tigers following a 73-82 loss the last time these two teams met. Megan Fannin broke out for 26 points with 15 coming from 3-point territory while Krystal Carlson added 15 points of her own. The Cougars shot 40.7% from the field and 83.3% from the free throw line.
