BURNSVILLE, Minn. - With a 79-67 win over Wayne State on Saturday, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Basketball Team clinched the No. 3 seed in the NSIC South and will host a first round game in the 2022 NSIC / Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament which opens on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
The Cougars, which finished the season at 16-11 and 11-9 in the NSIC, will host U-Mary (13-15, 7-9 NSIC) which is the No. 6 seed in the NSIC North. If USF wins, the Cougars will play North No. 2 seed Minnesota Duluth (21-4, 19-2 NSIC) at 7 pm Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Sanford Pentagon. USF is 15-8 all-time with Head Coach

The NSIC has released the bracket for the postseason tourney. St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth were the NSIC Overall and North Division Co-Champions as they finished with identical 19-2 records. St. Cloud State earned the top seed in the north division as they swept UMD during the regular season. Minnesota State finished 16-5 in the NSIC to claim its first NSIC South Division Crown and the top seed in the South Division. The NSIC/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament will consist of 12 teams and will be seeded by division (N 1-6 & S 1-6) using overall conference record (22-games). The top two seeds in each division will receive first round byes.
The first round of the tournament is set for Wednesday, February 23 on the campuses of the higher seeds in each match-up*. The quarterfinals, semifinals and championship will take place on February 26 to March 1 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. All rounds of the NSIC/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament played at the Sanford Pentagon will be aired live on Midco Sports and all games will be streamed for free on the NSIC Network.
