SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The USF Softball team is back in action this weekend Saturday through Monday (Feb. 26-28) as they play six games over the next three days at the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, KS.
The Cougars start the tournament on Saturday at 10 a.m. vs Pittsburgh State with a game to follow at 1:30 p.m. vs Central Missouri. The two games on Sunday, the Cougars face off against Newman at 9 a.m. and Washburn at 1:30 p.m., followed by Fort Hays State 10 a.m. and Emporia State at 1 p.m. on Monday. Check out our schedule on

PREVIEW – The University of Sioux Falls Softball team is coming off a week long break after beginning their season at the St. Cloud Dome Tournament the weekend before where they went 1-3 against some tough competition. At the Husky Dome, the Cougars fell to Northwestern (IA), SMSU, and SCSU and got their first win of the season against Bemidji State.
Through four games, the Cougars are led offensively by
Jayden Haley (.375 avg & 1.000 OPS),
Kaitlyn Van Der Zwaag (.364 avg & 1.260 OPS), and
Damaris Cuevas .333 avg & .885). On the mound, the Cougars have a combined 3.00 ERA with 21 strikeouts by
Bailee Lampman,
Kaitlyn Van Der Zwaag, and
Hanna Cress.
The Sioux Falls Softball team has a stretch of games following the Washburn Invitational where they will head to Florida for the Spring Games Tournament. While in Florida, the Cougars will play 10 games over a 5-day stretch.
