Palm Desert, CA - After one day of the Augustana Spring Fling, the University of Sioux Falls Women's Golf team holds 7th place. The two-day event will conclude tomorrow, March 10th.
The Cougars Women's Golf team headed to the Desert Willow Golf Resort to begin their own spring break trip this week. The first round of the Augustana Spring Fling resulted in a 7th place standing with a team score of 73-over 361. Maggie Veenendall led USF with a 14-over 86 that placed her in 29th place. The University of Indianapolis holds the team lead with a 15-over 303 followed by Grand Valley State's 20-over 308. Individually, Grand Valley's Olivia Stoll and Julia Sanchez lead the field with two-over 74's.
Maddie Hanson tied for the second best average on par-three holes by shooting even.
Individual stats for USF:
Maggie Veenendall: 29th, 14-over 86, five pars and birdies on the 338-yard hole 7 and 342-yard hole 17
Paige Hillman: T32nd, 16-over 88, eight pars
Annie Balduzzi: T40th, 25-over 97, four pars
Ashley Tackett: 45th, 31-over 103, two pars
Maddi Hanson: T36th, 18-over 90, six pars and a birdie on the 156-yard hole 11
Savannah Vincent (I): 42nd, 26-over 98, three pars
