Men’s Golf opens spring season in Nevada with a pair of tournaments

Sioux Falls, SD – The University of Sioux Falls Men's Golf team heads to Las Vegas, Nevada this week to begin their spring season. They will compete in two tournaments with the first beginning March 7th.

The Cougars open the spring slate with the Warrior Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hosted by Winona State, the tournament is a yearly occurrence with last year's competitors representing multiple conferences including the NSIC and MIAA. The tournament will last two days with 18 holes being played each day on the par-72 course at Stallion Mountain Golf Club.

On March 10th USF will partake in another Winona State hosted tournament, The Legacy Invitational. This tournament will take place just outside Las Vegas in Henderson, NV at The Legacy Golf Club. The Cougars will play 18 holes a day on the par-72 course over March 10th and 11th.

During the fall season, USF finished as high as 6th place (Watkins Invitational) and on average finished better in two-round tournaments than three-round ones. The highest individual finisher for the Cougars was Jack Evans with a tie for 7th at the Watkins Invitational.

Looking ahead, USF will enter five tournaments prior to the NSIC Championship in mid-April. Aside from the Nevada trip, the remaining tournaments will be the NSIC Preview in Blue Springs, MO, the Hardrocker Invitational in Rapid City, SD, and the Augustana Invite at Sioux Falls own Elmwood Golf Course.
