Hayden Heig Signing PhotoHeig comes to Sioux Falls following a dominant senior season at St. Thomas More, highlighted by winning the South Dakota Class A State Championship at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion. He posted back-to-back rounds of 69 to finish at 6-under par 138, winning the individual title by seven shots while helping the Cavaliers to a third-place team finish. Heig competed in nine tournaments during his senior season, winning seven times and finishing in the top three in the remaining two events, while compiling a scoring average of 70.3.

"Getting Hayden to join our program was a must as I want the best players in South Dakota playing at USF," Merry said. "He joins Carter Peterson and Will Peterson, both from Brandon Valley, giving us a great group from our state. Hayden's senior year was spectacular, culminating in his state championship in Vermillion in October. I have watched Hayden develop into a really good player since his early days on the SDGA Junior Tour and I am grateful he is going to continue his golf career at USF."

A native of Rapid City, Heig is the son of Nick and Serena Heig. He will officially join the Cougar men's golf program for the 2026–27 season.
