In earning her first career NSIC Player of the Week honor, Madrid had a breakout week in leading USF Softball to a seven-game winning streak, including five in a row in Florida. With the winning streak, USF is now 10-5 on the season.

During the five-games at the Spring Games in Winterhaven, Fla., Madrid has hit .556 with 10 hits in 18 at bats with eight runs, two home runs, nine RBI and a 1.056 slugging mark.

Madrid, who put together.600 OBP over that stretch, has hammered out four extra-base hits with her two home runs plus a double and a triple in the five games. Over the past seven games, she is hitting .462 with three HR and a .962 slugging and .500 OBP.

"Kylie is having a phenomenal start to the season offensively and defensively," said USF Head Softball Coach Shannon Pivovar. "She is a leader for our young team to look up to and works her tail off to really understand her strengths and better her weaknesses," she said. "This week, she has been an instrumental part of our team's successes by doing what we talk about every day - playing selfless softball for each other. She is just being herself and playing really good softball for our team," added Pivovar.

With her torrid hitting stretch, Madrid has pushed her season average to .360 and OPS to 1.079 with a .640 slugging on the season. She has registered four multi-hit games in her past seven games with three in the past four. She has had three hits with home runs in two of her last four games. She had a career-best four RBI in a win over Holy Family (3 hits, 3 runs) and had three RBI and was 3-of-3 in a win over Findlay.

Madrid and her USF teammates will play a pair of games on Tuesday, March 8, including against Salem at 1:30 pm (EST) and Lindenwood at 3:45 pm (EST).
