The University of Sioux Falls Softball Team (23-23) head to Rochester, Minnesota today for the 2022 NSIC Softball Tournament. #9 seed USF will face off against #8 seed SMSU on Thursday.

• Thursday's start time is 10 a.m. on Field A at the RYFSA Complex
• The all-time series, USF has won 11 of 21 matchups against SMSU.
• The last matchup, SMSU beat USF by a score of 3-0 on March 28, 2022.

Day and tournament passes are available for purchase at the main gate of the complex. (CASH ONLY) Single Day Tickets: $20, $10 students. Tournament Pass: $35 and children under the age of five are free.

USF Season
• USF finished with a 12-9 non-conference record before conference play began.
• The Spring Games tournament in Florida, USF hit an impressive .342 as a team, averaging just over eight runs a game. From the circle, USF pitchers had limited opponents to 29 runs and a combined 2.92 ERA between Hanna Cress, Kait Van Der Zwaag, Bailee Lampman, and Kennedy Thomas.
• On the season, USF has 89 extra base hits, 30 home runs (led by Kait Van Der Zwaag with eleven, Kylie Madrid with eight, and Taryn Wagner with five) for the Cougars. Resulting in 203 RBI and 230 runs scored.
• Kylan Straight was a top performer of the week during the week of April 26 with an average of .450, nine hits, .476 OBP, two stolen bases, and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
• Kait Van Der Zwaag won NSIC Player of the Week (May 3) as she hit .471, had nine hits, four home runs, 14 RBI, 1.235 slugging percentage, and went 3-0 from the circle with a 0.44 ERA two complete games, and 11 strikeouts.
• USF is currently on a six-game win streak heading into the conference tournament.
• USF finished the season 23-23 overall and 11-14 in conference play, finishing 9th place and getting a berth to the conference tournament.
• USF has seven individuals hitting over .300 on the season through 46 games.
